Tournament Invitations

These are the tournament invitations that have been received to date for the 2018 season. To submit an invitation, email the information (any file accepted; PDF file preferred) to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  

All local tournaments are open to all schools (not just WFCA members) and are run independently by each school and therefore may have differences in format and rules which will be listed in the invitation.

Does your tournament do anything out of the ordinary, such as a theme, extra or experimental categories, special awards, or anything else of note such as a tournament in honor of or in memory of someone? If so, submit your blurb and it will be included in the tournament list.

Tournaments are designated as [S] Single Entry, [D] Double Entry, and [T] Triple Entry

2018 WFCA STATE TOURNAMENT

As a member of the WFCA, you and your forensic team are invited to participate in the annual WFCA State Coaches' Tournament to be held on Saturday, April 7, 2017 at UW-Whitewater. The WFCA State Student Congress will be held the preceding day on Friday, April 6.

The Sun Prairie High School Forensics team invites you and your team to the tenth annual Sun Prairie Forensics Tournament. Our goal is to reach schools in a variety of regions throughout the state. We are prepared to offer a professionally-run, fun and exciting day of competition.

Special Notes!
– The tournament will be held at Sun Prairie High School (888 Grove Street). This is the NEWish high school.
– To help save your budgets, the judge to entries ratio is 1:6 instead of 1:5.

February 10  Hortonville Tournament [T]

Here at Hortonville High School we are excited to extend the invitation for your team to join us at our Forensic Tournament.  With the change to offering Impromptu as a regular category with the WFCA, we will no longer offer our bonus consolation category during final rounds.  However we will continue to offer the special NCFL category of Oratorical Declamation for freshmen and sophomore competitors during regular rounds.

February 24  Sheboygan South Tournament [T]  (Friday Feb. 23 Congress)

On behalf of the administration, forensics staff, and students of Sheboygan South High School, we are pleased to once again open our doors to you for our annual Forensics Invitational and Student Congress Tournament.

**We will also offer two extra categories.**

Oratorical Declamation will be offered for any freshmen or sophomore competitor who wishes to enter.  Rules for Oratorical Declamation will follow Catholic Forensics League rules, which can be found at http://www.ncfl.org

Extemporaneous Reading is being offered as a new category for students who want to try something different as a second or third category.  It is an improvised reading category where students will enter the room, be given a few choices of short literature selections to choose from, and then have a few minutes to skim through and deliver to the judge.  Rules for the category can be found in the "files" tab at the tournament's speechwire page.

February 24  UW-Whitewater Tournament [D]

The tournament is limited to 500 entries due to room availability. Tournament registration will close once this limit is reached. We will incorporate a four-round format this year. Each event will have three preliminary rounds, but they will be scattered within four competition slots.

MARCH 2018

March 3  James Madison Memorial Tournament [T] (Friday March 2 Congress)

The 17th Annual James Madison Memorial Forensics tournament. Have your students compete in the TRIATHLON!  Students must compete in three events - at least one from both Speech and Interp.  The top six competitors will receive a Triathlon trophy.

March 3  Mukwonago Tournament [S]

The MHS Forensics Team invites you to our first annual "Is It Spring Yet?" Tournament. While we understand there may be other competitions held on this date, we hope that our location and our Southeastern Wisconsin Hospitality will "warm" you up to our event!
